| Dry and Dry/Wet Combination Scrubber Systems
Overview
Dry and Dry/Wet Combination Scrubber Systems are available for gas flows from 160 through 75,000 acfm, provide particulate collection efficiencies between 98 and 99.9% on most applications, and are normally used for scrubbing fine particulate with acid gases.Completely dry systems utilize a dry venturi scrubber for rapid mixing of the contaminant gas with a sorption reagent followed by a Series 10000 Pulse Jet Fabric Filter Collector to capture the hydrated lime or sodium bicarbonate reagent and solid particulates. Dry systems totally eliminate wastewater treatment or water pollution problems. Typical acid gas removal is about 95% to 98%.The Dry/Wet Combination System consists of a Series 10000 Pulse Jet Fabric Filter Collector followed by the RotaBed Scrubber. The fabric filter is used for solid particulate capture and the packed tower for gas absorption. This system offers superior solid particulate collection with less energy usage than high energy wet scrubbers while achieving higher gas absorption efficiencies than the all dry scrubber system. For high temperature applications, a specially designed dry bottom quench tower can be used to reduce the gas temperature down to 275 to 550 ° F before entering the fabric filter at a safe temperature.
Typical Applications
- Scrubbing fine particulates and acid gases emitted from incinerators, furnaces and boilers.
- Scrubbing gas phase particulate formations in electronics, chemical and heavy metals industries.
- Sulfur dioxide and hydrochloric acid removal.
